Arriving
Thursday 7 JanuarySettle in, get to know the house and slowly enter the valley's rhythm.

Origen is inspired by the silent strength of the mountain that roots us, the immense sky of the Elqui Valley that lifts us, and the wisdom of those who learned to live in harmony with this land long before us.
For the Diaguita people, life was a constant passage between mountain, valley and river; a path where light and shadow were not opposites but parts of the same journey. That view inspires the essence of this retreat: remembering that growing also means integrating every part of who we are.
For five days, movement, food, nature, wine and community become the language for discovering the Elqui Valley from a new perspective. Not as a destination to visit, but as a territory to inhabit with the body, the senses and enough time to be transformed by it.
“We don’t come to escape everyday life. We come to remember a more conscious way of inhabiting it.”
The mountain roots us.The sky lifts us.The valley reminds us of what is essential.
A carefully designed journey combining movement, gastronomy, nature and local culture. The retreat balances activity and rest, letting each person find their own pace.

Each day has been designed with a different intention. Together they form a journey that leaves room to rest and live the valley at your own pace.
Settle in, get to know the house and slowly enter the valley's rhythm.
The first sunrise, the temazcal and the river. The body starts to let go.
The garden, the Farm to Table meal and a night of wine, art and stars.
The valley's artisans, the closing circle and the table under the stars.
A last unhurried breakfast and the return, with the valley already inside you.

We say goodbye carrying the learnings, the connections and the memories shared during Origen.
Among mountains, vineyards, rivers and one of the clearest skies on earth, this land offers the perfect setting to stop, breathe and reconnect. But its true richness goes far beyond its landscapes: this valley was home to the Diaguita people, whose understanding of life was deeply connected to nature and its cycles.
Here days begin with the first light over the mountains. Meals follow the rhythm of the land and the seasons. Conversations stretch around a shared table. Nights end under one of the most extraordinary skies on the planet.
Here, time feels slow again.
Origen exists thanks to local producers, farmers, cooks and artisans who open the doors of their work. Through them you’ll discover:
Casa Álvarez was for many years the old school of Alcohuaz. Carefully restored, it keeps the spirit of that place of gathering and community. Built in adobe, stone and wood, it preserves the traditional architecture of northern Chile: its walls regulate temperature and its corridors and courtyards converse with the landscape.
A few steps away is Casa Espejo, also known as Bistró Shala, tied to the winemaking history of Alcohuaz: it was once part of the grape-drying process after harvest.
We work with seasonal ingredients and favour produce grown and made in the Elqui Valley. Fruit, vegetables, herbs, cheeses, oils, wines and local preparations are part of a proposal that celebrates the landscape and the people behind it.

Food is not a complement to the journey. It is one of the ways of living the territory.
To create an experience where movement, food, territory and community coexist naturally.

A yoga teacher with more than a decade guiding practices of movement, breath and wellbeing. Her teaching invites each person to connect with their body from a kind, conscious and accessible place. At Origen she guides the yoga, breathwork and meditation practices, designed to regulate the nervous system and cultivate presence, and holds the moments of integration.

A chef and experience creator who believes hospitality lives in the small details. At Origen she is the host and curator: she designs the arc of the retreat, cares for every detail of the hospitality and develops the culinary proposal so each moment reflects the essence of the Elqui Valley.

A chef trained at Basque Culinary Center, he sees cooking as a way of gathering people around a table and telling the story of a territory through its ingredients. At Origen he leads the execution of the culinary proposal, working with seasonal produce and local producers.
From your arrival in La Serena to the last breakfast in the valley, we take care of every detail.
Every retreat is different, but one thing always repeats: people return home feeling more connected to themselves, to nature and to those around them.
